Jeri Barr - Vice Chair
Jeri began her nonprofit career at the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta in 1978. Jeri later moved to what is now Center for Family Resources (CFR). During her tenure as CEO, she grew the staff and budget, acquired and managed a 32-unit community for low-income and homeless families; acquired and renovated a 25,000 sq. ft. building for administrative offices and 12 transitional apartment; she also led a major capital campaign raising over $8,000,000 for interventive programs. During this time, she launched CCFR’s agency support of Cobb Cares, the Marietta/Cobb Continuum of Care, a comprehensive county-wide emergency response to Hurricane Katrina, and later flooding disasters in South Cobb County.
Among multiple community awards and accolades, Jeri has been recognized as • YWCA Woman of the Year • CEW/Cobb Chamber of Commerce Glass Ceiling Award • Atlanta Magazine’s Outstanding Women • Cobb Chamber’s Marietta Area Council Citizen of the Year. Jeri’s community volunteerism includes: • East Cobb Newcomers Club President • Rape Counseling Center (merged with Battered Women’s Shelter at the YWCA), President • CCT Advisory Board Member and President • Kiwanis Club of Marietta, President Honorary Commanders • Leadership Cobb Graduate • United Way Regional Commission on Homelessness, Cobb Representative, and serves on the board of Marietta Mentoring for Leadership.
